AMD Hawaii graphics card to cost less than $600

According to Fudzilla’s sources AMD will put their newest Hawaii-based graphics card in a lower price point than GeForce GTX 780.

One thing is certain, if Fudzilla is making a statement on yet unreleased card it means we are close to the launch, at least that’s how it used to be.

I wrote few days ago about a price cut of Radeon HD 7000 series. You could even find Radeon HD 7990 “Malta” for $649. Currently the cheapest HD 7990 is available from Powercolor (the old model) for $629 after a rebate.

It doesn’t take a genius to notice that HD 7990 will still be faster than Hawaii model. Fudzilla only reports that the new Radeon will cost less than 600 USD, meaning it could cost either 599 or 549 dollars.  If I were to speculate then $549 looks more pleasing.

AMD will show off their Hawaii GPU on September 25th. From what I’ve learned this will only be a public showcase of the card. We will have to wait few more days for the reviews.
