One of the very few manufacturers to offer refreshed Radeon HD 7950 with PowerTune Boost technology is PowerColor. They are currently offering five Radeon HD 7950 cards, including this new PCS+ model.
Frankly speaking, this is just the same PCS+ model that is already listed on PowerColor website. Technically, this just the same card with a new BIOS. So this is probably the cheapest ever model to launch for PowerColor, they just chosen a new BIOS and here it is – a new Boost State Edition (probably even the box received just a new sticker).
A new BIOS raised the clock to 900 MHz (previous model has 880 MHz). It’s featuring a triple-slot cooling solution with two 92mm fans. According to PowerColor their technology increases the airflow by 60%. The cooler is also made of one heatsink which is equipped with three 8mm heatpipes. The card itself has 6+2+1 phase power design, controlled by digital PWM. PCS+ models are equipped with Ferrite Core Chokes.
PowerColor’s PCS+ HD7950 Boost State supports Eyefinity technology with four display outputs: DVI, HDMI and two miniDisplayPorts.
The non-Boost model is still available for €330, meaning that this will probably cost more and both cards will be sold simultaneously.
