AMD annoucnes the new prices for their flagship models. This is few weeks after the previous cuts and it looks like AMD is preparing their lineup for NVIDIA’s upcoming mid-range lineup, so that people will still grab some AMD products before that.
Prices will go into effect on Monday, July 16:
- Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition – $499
- Radeon HD 7970 – $429
- Radeon HD 7950 – $349
- Radeon HD 7870 – $299
Here’s the comparison to the launch prices and the cheapest offers I could find on Newegg.
Launch Price | New price | Newegg Offers | |
---|---|---|---|
Radeon HD 7970 | $549 | $429 | $429 |
Radeon HD 7950 | $449 | $349 | $339 |
Radeon HD 7870 | $349 | $299 | $289 |
If you were waiting for GeForce GTX 660, then you might find this offers attractive. Nevertheless, it’s always better to wait those three weeks to see how GTX 660 performs.
