Sapphire Presents Radeon HD 7970 Toxic with 6GB of RAM
Sapphire is preparing its Toxic Radeon HD 7970. This is the first card to feature 6GB of GDDR5 memory.

In the last day of 2011, a leaked slide from Sapphire presented all the variations of Radeen HD 7970 Sapphire is about to release. It was the first time we were informed about upcoming Radeon HD 7970 with 6GB of memory. It appears that it was true. Sapphire has showcased their flagship card for enthusiasts on CeBIT and ComputerBase.de has pictured it.

Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 Toxic 6G is the card based on Tahiti XT. The most noticeable difference is a memory count. This model was equipped with additional 3GB on the other side of PCB to make 6GB in total. Such design required blackplate on the other side of the card and special cooler. Sapphire did just that and even decided to present their new card in CrossFire mode. Card has increased clocks to 1150 MHz (925 default) for core and 1500 MHz for memory.

ComputerBase did not mention any price and release date.
