55nm GT200 with GDDR5 in the fourth quarter of 2008
Contrary to earlier announcements that shortly after the premiere Radeon 4870 X2 NVIDIA shoot a new version of GT200 GPU, performed in 55-nm technology dimension, the group from Santa Clara all the time, but it works.
Transfer GT200 chip in a 55nm technology should be successful early in October this year. Do not miss the improvements – a new GPU for the first time in the history of GeForce will support GDDR5 memory.
Reduced GT200 GPU will result in higher taktowań, and the addition of high-speed memory GDDR5 (in place of currently used by NVIDIA GDDR3) is to ensure that new construction will be about a dozen percent faster, so as to be able to develop a Radeon HD 4870 X2. It appears, however, that the transfer of new NVIDIA GPU with a new technological process is more time consuming than could have been spent.
It remains to wait a few months and see how we react to the actions of competition ATI.
