Sapphire has introduced a new card with the highest shelves to the series of Ultimate Edition – HD 3870 – pretendenta to the title of the world’s fastest graphics card chilled passively. Charter has 512 MB of memory GDDR4, taktowanej frequency of 1,125 MHz (effectively 2.25 GHz), with a core clock frequency of 775 MHz. Also ensures high performance graphics as the standard model – but with a new, silent cooling without a fan.

Sapphire HD 3870 supports ATI Avivo HD, which provides better quality video. It has a built-in decoder UVD (Universal Video Decoder) that is capable of hardware accelerated playback formats Blu-ray and HD DVD, both in the case of VC-1 codecs and H.264. This reduces the CPU load to a minimum. HDMI adapter provides a realistic audio and video playback of high-resolution HD on a single cable, providing a direct connection to the display adapted to technology via HDMI. Thanks to this card Sapphire HD 3870 ULTIMATE is the perfect solution for gamers and movie enthusiasts.

Like other models in this series, the card Sapphire HD 3870 Ultimate Edition is equipped with CrossFireX technology, enabling increased efficiency by combining the two, three or even four graphics cards on the motherboard is compatible with CrossFireX. Each card has a dual-link DVI, which in full configuration allows the use even of the eight monitors.

All cards with Sapphire HD 3000 series combine a uniform shader architecture with support for Shader Model 4.1 feature present in the libraries of DirectX 10.1. The connection to the motherboard is achieved through the latest PCI-Express interface second generation. Architecture includes 320 streaming processors and 512-bit internal ring bus memory controller used in all existing high-end models.

Produced in a new 55-nm technology GPU HD 3800 series provides the same performance with less power and lower cost than previous generations of graphics cards. A new feature called ATI PowerPlay actively reduces power consumption depending on their workload.
