Energy S3 Graphics 4300

S3 Graphics presented the S3 Graphics GPU market in 4300 for embedded systems. The new processor combines the latest achievements in the field of play HD video, graphics rendering, support for various types of screens with the new power management features and is designed for game designers, digital information boards and other embedded multimedia applications.

GPU S3 Graphics 4300 debut at Embedded Systems Conference, which took place in the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, on days 15 to 18 April, at the VIA booth.

S3 Graphics 4300E is highly unusual in this class in the leading indicator of the efficiency of the energy consumed – and superior to competing products with up to 30%. S3 Graphics 4300 is currently the only separate, high-resolution HD video processor and graphics that meets the rigid requirements of thermal industry embedded systems. Depending on the requirements of the final product, designers have to choose the maximum energy efficiency or high efficiency in handling multimedia.

The new processor supports DirectX ™ 10.1 and OpenGL 2.1 using the latest programmable, zunifikowanej units cieniujących architecture, which allows you to visualize realistic 3D environments. S3 Graphics 4300 is also equipped with programmable video engine with the acceleration of media formats H.264, VC-1, AVS, DivX and MPEG-2 HD, and the latest connector for the display: HDMI with HDCP, two-channel LVDS, DVI and a double.

The new multimedia processor 4300 appears next to an existing product family of processors 2300, by building a portfolio of processors S3 intended for embedded devices. With the introduction of a new processor, the company S3 will offer a full range of solutions for use on all types of embedded systems, with deliveries and technical support guaranteed for a long period of time. SDK and HDK packages for 2300 are already on offer, and versions for 4300 will be available in June 2008.

“In response to a fast ewolujące demand for increasingly sophisticated multimedia technology for embedded systems industry, is proud to present highly competitive product – processor 4300,” said Dr. Ken Weng, Director General of S3 Graphics. “S3 Graphics now offers a full range of products that enable systems designers can achieve more and more advanced concepts.”

S3 Graphics Processor 4300 is produced in the production proven 65nm process and highlights energy-efficient architecture to support multimedia at a frequency of the clock from 300 Mhz to 600 Mhz. Core graphics and HD video co-operate with a maximum of 256MB of DDR2 or DDR3. The processor connects through a rapid bus system PCI Express 2.0, that supports standards x1, x4, x8 and x16; also has a PCI Express ASPM, which diminishes the power consumption and configurations capable of passive cooling.

S3 Graphics Processor 4300 is equipped with advanced programmable video core is fully compatible interface with the Microsoft DirectX ™ VA 2.0 and Blu-ray ™, enabling video playback from protected sources for the purpose of transmission. The processor supports codecs WMV-9 HD, MPEG-2 HD, VC-1, H.264, DivX and AVS.

4300 is a dual relays DVI / HDMI with HDCP dwukanałowe and LVDS transmitters, allowing the connection to the latest standard and widescreen LCD screens, as well as two analog transmitters RAMDACs, allowing you to the CRT screens. The processor also supports an independent image rotation (900, 1800, 2700) acceleration media 2D, 3D and HD.

S3 Graphics 4300E is fully compatible with Windows XP, XPe, CE and is a certified WHQL for Windows Vista SP1.
