Already on the market soon there will be new graphics cards Radeon HD 3670, belonging to the middle segment wydajnościowego. They replace the current Radeony 2600 XT and compete for the GeForce 8600. Will be manufactured in 55 nm technology dimension, in place of 65-nm used in the current mainstreamowych ATI cards.

Unfortunately, the first benchmark shows that the new Radeony are neither faster nor cooler from the 2600 XT. In some tests, HD 3670 fare even worse by 20%, although the differences are usually only kilkuprocentowe – sometimes for more, often on less. What is worse, the HD 3670 to collect a few percent more energy than its predecessor, which means that the manufacturer failed to reduce consumption of electricity after switching to the smaller dimension of technology.

It remains to be hoped that the ATI zawalczy low price, improve efficiency through the optimization of drivers, and at a later stage will reduce the power consumption of its new cards.
