Galaxy GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB GC Pictured and Detailed

Galaxy GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB GC Pictured and Detailed new card geforce gtx 660ti
Galaxy’s card has been updated with a new cooler. While GTX 670 and GTX 680 have similar ones, this has a new version, which looks more futuristic.

The heatsink is identical, also the heatpipes are in the same number and placed the same way. It looks like Galaxy only refreshed the cooler shroud, which is kept in silver color.

Card is featuring a factory-overclocked clocks of 1006/1084/6008 MHz for base, boost and memory, most of the non-overclocked models featured such clocks.

We know that MSI’S GTX 660 Ti Power Edition will feature a TDP up to 190W. But if we compare this to Galaxy’s 225W power consumption, we can guess which card is more powerful. It does also feature 5+2 phase power design (same as MSI’s PE). Galaxy took care of the power section, by providing an additional heatsink to cover it.

The PCB itself looks very interesting. It has been divided into two modules, where the primary is more like a reference card, and the additional board delivers all the juicy stuff for overclocking. This includes more powerful power section and 6+8 power connectors.

What’s more, it comes in variants 2GB or 3GB of memory, divided into 8 or 12 Hynix chips. These are all GDDR5 modules with a memory latency of 0.3 ns.

Galaxy provided the slides with a overclocking performance, where it beats the GTX 670. There’s also a gaming performance chart, where GTX 660 Ti only lost in Aliens vs Predator. These charts show how overclocking can increase the maximum performance. But we better off wait for more valid reviews to compare how it performs.

Card is equipped with default display outputs: two DVI’s, one HDMI and DisplayPort. Galaxy GTX 660 Ti GC 2GB offered for $350, while the 3GB version is not yet detailed.

IMO for the price it will cost, better get a GXT 670, besides the high TDP.
When a x60 card with factory OC close x70(stock), better option is x70 due price, performance(OC/bus) and power consuption.

It has a TDP of a modified GTX 670. I think this might be a good overclocker.

    1) Those 3dMark charts look odd and the numbers don’t add up to professional reviews:

    - GTX680 gets under 33k in Vantage but theirs is at 39k?
    - HD7970 is actually faster than 670 in Vantage, theirs is way slower than 30k score the 7970 gets

    - The Reference 660Ti gets higher score than GTX670 in Vantage and 3dMark11? How is that possible unless they used 2 different CPUs? 660Ti has lower specs than a 670 and yet it beats it in Vantage and 3dMark 11?

    2) Lost Planet score looks so much off, it’s LOL!
    - How can a reference 660Ti beat a 670 in Lost Planet 2? It has less ROPs and lower memory bandwidth?
    - Those scores show GTX680 60% faster than a 7970, but professional reviews have it totally different:

    7970 = 44, 670 = 49, 7970 Ghz = 49, 680 = 54

And yet their 680 gets 91 fps…..YA OK!

Very nice card from Galaxy btw. I really like the easy ability to clean the dust from the heatsink.

GTX 660Ti was overclocked. I have no idea where did they take those number from, but those charts were made by Galaxy, official slides. I have not even looked at GTX 680 score, because GTX 660 Ti is incomparable to this card, so there’s no point :)

I think they just wanted to say, it overclocks good, that’s all.

those charts are full of contradictions like from another planet.

Wow thats some good old marketing right there

I just love how every time a new videocard comes out, 3dMark11 is always used. Really? We’ve long passed the time when 3dMark actually meant something. Now a 6-core CPU adds 2-3k points in 3dMark. It’s no longer a GPU benchmark. Even worse, the scores don’t translate to real world gaming. Why don’t they test real games?
