NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti Release Day Coming Up

Tomorrow a new NVIDIA graphics card will be released. There are plenty of new photos floating around the web. Some companies are already listing the new models.

ASUS has already created a new sub-categories to their VIP forums, including GTX660 TI-DC2T-2GD5 and GTX660 TI-DC2-2GD5. These are only two models from the four that we know of.

There are plenty of photos with stacked boxes. It seems that Gigabyte’s WindForce 2X will be one of the most popular GTX 660 Ti, while 90% of the online offers are limited only to this model.

Currently there are still missing pictures of some cards. I’m trying to find the pictures of Gainwards’s Phantom or any Galaxy model (found it). But it seems that both companies did not release any images so far, so we will have to wait few more hours before they are leaked.

OBR yesterday informed that one of the AMD AIB Partners has informed him about another price reduction of Radeon HD 7950 and HD 7870. So before you grab your GTX 660 Ti, wait few days for new prices of Radeon cards.

Remember to check the roundup, where I put all the new cards, which were not yet listed there. I expect few models which were not mentioned there.

Yeah, i also read ORB news about price drops, and if justify i can change to 7950.
7870 in my opinion should go for $250 and 7950 $300.
But Nvidia also need to think about drop a bit GXT 670 and GXT 680…
I just want to know if this Gigabyte model has 3 or 4 pin for fan…

Added more pictures of this model

Looks like a 3pin. Considering installing your Arctic cooler?

Yes i still have my Arctic cooler from 560 TI, but doubt it will fit, because of mounting holes…
Compatible 7870, but not 7950, thats bad, because 7870 is not “enough” for me after months of waiting.

Some duct tape will do the job :)

  • skr13

LOL, i want install the cooler not because temps, but for low noise, 3fan always at 800RPM even in 3dmark/Occt.

Chinese guys wrote that those two 10cm fans are noiseless with 1200 MHz clock, I wouldn’t change it at all :)

  • skr13

That depends what those guys consider noiseless, what i know is MSI TF fans are noisy, Asus DC less but more that i like.
http://i.imgur.com/Dotik.jpg 1890RPM, not much for LOAD, but doesn´t compare with Arctic Cooler.
I usually play without headphones, i prefer speaker, that is main cause of my intolerance to noise.

Want the 7950 to drop to $250 and the 7870 to $200 :p..

UPDATE: GTX 670 Unlocked Voltage Bios
The power consumption goes further than factory specs, like 250W(6+8Pin) :0

  • http://videocardz.com/ VideoCardz.com

They might have increased the speed of the fans, to show the lowest temperature.
Mine Gigabyte’s fans are always at 800-900 RPM.

  • http://videocardz.com/ VideoCardz.com

I read it, it’s nothing to write about.
It does increase the power target but the performance gain is not as expected. Some even noticed a lower performance. Not to mention the degradation of the chip. Mine card hits 1250, so for 50MHz more it’s not worth to void the warranty.

  • skr13

Ok, just find it interresting, because i also did something like that with my previous Gigabyte GTX 460.
I had use a tool called FBE(fermi bios editor), and of course void warranty, but i could increase clock from 675MHZ to 850MHZ with 1.025V, theorically thats 25% OC. Performance almost reach 5870 for less $100.
This graph shows EVGA FTW with 850MHZ clock:
    Good old times ;)

  • http://videocardz.com/ VideoCardz.com

You are comparing this old grandpa to GTX 670? That’s unacceptable.
Seriously though, when the cards had a clocks of 675MHz they were usually underclocked, so it’s like going back to the root.

  • BestJinjo

460 was one of the best mid-range cards ever made. Massive overclocking potential. Back then I found 470s for cheaper than the 460 so I grabbed those, but 460 was great.

  • BestJinjo

$250? HD7950 and 660Ti should be similar in performance at stock speeds. So why would the 7950 drop to $250? I am thinking $299-329 against $299-329 for 660Ti reference/after-market versions.
