AMD Officially Confirms Radeon HD 7970, HD7950 and HD 7770 Price Cuts

AMD Officially Confirms Radeon HD 7970, HD7950 and HD 7770 Price Cuts radeon 7970 radeon 7950 radeon 7770
According to HardwareCanucks, AMD has officially announced new prices for Radeon HD 7970, Radeon HD 7950 and Radeon HD 7770. All three cards will be now available (for a limited time) with FREE DLC games.

Starting from today, AMD presents their HD 7900 Series along with HD 7770 card for new prices. You can now get them for:

  • Radeon HD 7970 – 1 545,48 zł($479)
  • Radeon HD 7950 – 1 287,36 zł($399)
  • Radeon HD 7770 – 448,48 zł($139)

AMD decided not to drop prices of HD 7800 Series, because those cards are too ‘new’ and there’s not really a better solution for this price tag.

With those cards you will gain access to three games for free:

  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution + Missing Link DLC
  • Dirt: Showdown (this game will be released in May 2012)
  • Nexuiz (a DX11 FPS based on the CryEngine 3 to be released on May 2, 2012)

Well I just checked only a $20.00 price cut on a couple of brands & only 2 free games! When prices hit $399.00 I’ll pull the trigger.

Looks like Newegg didn’t even drop prices yet. Amazon and NCIX did. The Egg has a tendency to keep prices high until everyone else drops them.

I checked all 3 sites only $20.00- $30.00 price drop on Newegg, Amazon hasn’t dropped prices, Newegg has. The prices aren’t even close to $399.99..$429.99 was the cheapest 7950. Maybe in a couple of days or when the dirt 3 give away is over with.

Oh you were talking about the 7950.

This generation is weak. 25% more performance over GTX580 for 7970 and about 35% more from GTX680. Worst generational increase in a long time. GTX685 needs to come out because it’s the real flagship that we’ve been missing. I really don’t feel like this generation is worth it to be honest.

Update: I see PowerColor HD7950 for $379 on the Egg, Visiontek $399 and XFX for $399 for 7950s.

Thanks for heads up, Buyer’s Guide updated!

The Egg did drop prices on a few cards but not all still over priced on most the models. Like I said I would pay $399.99 for an overclocked card that included free shipping but no more than that. I really don’t care for Dirt 3 or Deus Ex but if your into it might be a great time to keep an eye on prices. I still haven’t seen any with 3 games! Amazon which I checked right before typing this hasn’t dropped $$ a dime!
ABCD your correct I was hoping the 670-670ti would shed some light but the target price of $349.99 & $399.99 seems as well as AMD are priced too Darn High! I think they’ve both gone nuts on the pricing issue! Yes I’ve seen the red screen issue on the 680 up close, my sons PNY card & to me it’s over priced by $50.00 but that has to include free shipping!

Price drops were announced by a etailer I use, it’s UK but maybe useful for some: 7970 from £375 (680 from £420) 7950 from £300 (580 1.5GB from £300/3GB from £340. They also dropped the 7770 from £110 now. I think the 7970 is competitive with the 680 as it stands, if they drop to around £400 things might need to change. Between the 7950 and the 580 its a no-brainer in my eyes but it is getting awfully close to the 7870 at around £260.

Newegg has dropped prices on all hd 7950′s & most of the 7970′s, Amazon hasn’t dropped prices yet! I’ve still only seen 2 free games with these cards on newegg not 3 games. Amazon is being slow to react but will have to bring $$ down a little future if they don’t offer games. Keep your eyes open this should be a great battle with release of GTX 670 & 670 ti right around the corner, 1st week in May maybe they’ll bring down the price target of $349.99-$399.99.

HIS, Diamond & Vision Tek HD 7970 prices have dropped on Amazon but no free games!
