ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3800
AMD plans to re-enter the ATI Mobility Radeon very efficient performance. This time it is the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3800, which is based on the most advanced graphics architecture.
ATI Technologies, through its devices with low power drain, characterized by stability and the appropriate drivers for technical support, a few years ago was the undisputed leader in mobile graphics segment. However, when the company presented its layout ATI Radeon X1800, and then as a product of AMD ATI Radeon HD 2900, was no longer able to provide truly efficient mobile layout (GPU), which does not actually consume too much energy. However, this situation could change once the presentation of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3800.
As reported by many sources, ATI, graphics group Advanced Micro Devices, is preparing GPU version Mobility, to return to the market for notebook PCs for gamers who require their equipment nieprzeciętnej performance graphics card. Some websites even argue that the novelty has appear in the notebook Toshiba Dynabook Satellite TXW/69W intended for the Japanese market, however, as mentioned by the manufacturer, this notebook is available with the card GeForce 8600M series. In view of the fact that mobile graphics cards from the average shelf, highendowe NVidia and AMD mobile systems are structured differently, it seems unlikely that Toshiba allows the user to manually select the final with a solution which wants to use.
The current specification of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3800 is still unknown, but you can suspect that it will be recalled that known from the desktop version of the model HD 3800. ATI Radeon graphics processors HD 3800 series are equipped with 320 unified processors cieniujących (SP), 16 units teksturujących (TU), 16 render back ends (RBE), the engine of AVIVO HD, as well as universal video decoder (UVD) to handle films with high resolution. The Charter also has 256 bit memory controller. A new feature is, of course, the use of 55 nanometrowego the manufacturing process, which means that a reduction in energy consumption both for desktop and notebook PCs. Charter is also something which is missing because competitors supports DirectX 10.1. On the other hand, for some time the players will not need that facility.
At present the best and most efficient graphics card designed for notebooks and produced by AMD is ATI Mobility Radeon X1900, which is based on the architecture presented later in 2005. Therefore, AMD needs as much odświeżonego product segment in the most efficient systems of image, the more that this segment has to offer the manufacturer the possibility of applying considerable margin. And the company now needs most.
It is not known yet exactly when AMD intends to present new Mobility Radeon system, but taking into account that it is compatible with PCI Express 2.0 and equipped with advanced energy-saving features, the manufacturer of chips may delay presentation until the premiere of a new platform for notebook PCs. However, in view of the fact that rumors are starting to appear on the new equipment, the company may accelerate the development and premiere of the new system, to better compete with the recently presented, high-performance NVidia GeForce 8800M arrangement.
