Radeon HD 7970 3GB Listed, Available at 573 Euros
The countdown has started as we expect Radeon HD 7970 to be released on December 22th. It should be available for everyone on January 9th. Nevertheless, we have now some valid information which proves some of the basic specification details. Salland Webwinkel has listed newest Radeon on their website for 696 euros.
The newest Radeon HD7970 with 3GB of GDDR5 memory, which bandwidth is set to 384bits, will include 2048 rendering processors and 128 Texture Units. Radeon 7970 has support for newest DirectX 11.1 and PCI-Express 3.0. Graphics Processing Unit clock is set to 1000MHz, while memory runs at 5500MHz effectively.
It is possible that the model listed in Salland is a overclocked model. That would explain the high price which was announced earlier at 500 euros in previous leaked information.
UPDATE: Radeon HD 7970 also available in Dutch Comcom.nl at 573 Euros
Guru3d: Dutch online retailer Comcom.nl listed the upcoming Radeon HD 7970 on its site. Listed, was an ASUS-branded card (with no pictures, of course), so it could be a paper listing for pre-orders.
Comcom is asking €482.11 for this card before applicable taxes, about €573.71 with them. Disturbing as the pricing looks, it endorses speculated North American pricing of US $550 (pre-tax) for these cards. In its listing the retailer mentions the card’s model number as HD7970-3GD5, and as having 3 DVI connectors, 1 HDMI, and two mini-DP.
