PowerColor Radeon HD 5670 PCS+ Preview @ InsideHW

When AMD released the first Radeon HD 5670 back in February, we concluded that they did a very good job technically, creating a compact mainstream graphics card with marginal heating, has all modern outputs and presents an excellent multimedia solution, but with an inadequate price, since one was able to buy faster previous-generation cards for the same amount of money. We were expecting the price to drop to an acceptable level during spring, but economic difficulties got the better of us, which makes most hardware in Europe now cost more or equal than six months ago. This is also the only problem plaguing the new sample of Radeon HD 5670 that got into our hands.

PowerColor’s Radeon HD 5670 PCS+ uses an efficient cooler, the same in shape as those already seen on HD 5750 and 5770 from the PCS+ series, and similar to models made by Arctic Cooling. This results in a somewhat increased card thickness in comparison with the referent model, but the card still remains significantly shorter than stronger series’ models.
